On July 3, 2021, in his home in Virginia with his son Danny (Janna) and Tod (Wendy) our father and grandfather Emerson Roland Boyd 93 left his mortal body and is now with His Lord. He was born Sept. 26 of 1927 on Timothy Ridge Ross Township, in Jefferson County, Ohio. He was born third of a family of six and preceded in death by Father, Blanchard Boyd and Mother, Freda Hile Boyd, Older brother, Harold and sister, Martha and younger sister, Iona, brother, Lester and Blanchard (Duane) Boyd. Also he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley (McClurg) Boyd in 2009, his Daughters, Kathy Ruiz and Joy, and Grandson, Aaron. He is survived by Sons, Danny (Janna) and Tod (Wendy) and grandchildren, Joel (Breanne), Elisha (Carolina), Nathanael, Jesse, Rachael, and Josiah. Great Grandchildren, Catherine (Joel) and Danny (Aaron) Boyd. In addition Danny's Parents, Sam, Brandie and his brothers Jake and Mason Cielakie. He graduated Bergholz High School in 1945. Was married May 16, 1949 to Shirley Mae McClurg. He worked for Koppers Company Chemical Plant in Follansbee, West Virginia for 37 years and spent his remaining years in Virginia with his sons, daughter in laws, and grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 685 Canton Rd., Wintersville, Ohio on Wednesday from 5-8 PM. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor William "Buster" Payne officiating. Burial will follow at Fort Steuben Burial Estates, Wintersville.
