Esther Elizabeth Harris, 82, passed away March 14, 2022 in Steubenville, Ohio. She was born January 4, 1940 in Bloomingdale, Ohio. Daughter of the late David Sylvester Musgrave and Anita Susan (Klinesmith) Musgrave. In addition to her parents, Esther is preceded in death by her husband James Harris Sr.; her brother, Emmett James Musgrave; and her sisters, Frances Hammond, Anita Faye (Johnny) Bice, and Ethel Jochins.

Mrs. Esther Harris worked in the Steubenville City School district for 30 years as an elementary school teacher. She was an active member of the Starkdale Presbyterian Church of Steubenville.

Esther loved to garden, feed and watch the birds, crochet, and cook. She appreciated time spent gathered around the dinner table with family and friends. She also loved attending religious concerts and plays.

Esther is survived by her sons, James (Amanda) Harris Jr., and Kevin Joe (Dawn) Harris; her daughter Julia Elizabeth (Dec. James) Carman; her sisters, Mary Jane Hubbard, Eunice (Gerald) Anthony, and Lois Flouhouse; her 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Starkdale Presbyterian Church in Steubenville, Ohio on Friday, March 18, 2022, from 10 – 12 P.M. with service at noon with Pastor Carl Moore and Doug George. Burial will follow at Bloomingdale Cemetery.
