Esther G. McClelland, 92, of Richmond, OH, passed away February 9, 2016 at Gables Care Center, Hopedale, OH.

She was born October 19, 1923 in Steubenville, OH, a daughter of the late Albert and Mahala (Yocum) Martin.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert S. McClelland who passed away October 24, 2005; sons, Dennis G. who was killed in action in Vietnam, June 29, 1969 and R. Gary who died May 29, 1983; brother, Donald Martin; sisters, Alice Swickard, Dorothy Mellott, and Eileen McCloud; and 3 infant siblings, Lois, Carl, and Rhoda.

Esther attended the First Christian Church of Steubenville and the Knoxville Presbyterian Church. She was a member of Toronto Chapter 215 of the Order of the Eastern Star. Esther was the last member left of the old Knoxville 500 Card Club.

She is survived by her daughters, Sherry (Dennis) Hoobler of Richmond and Pamela (Michael) Mettenberger of Richmond; grandchildren, Craig (Connie) Hoobler, Troylynn (Bill) Boggs, Brenda (Jay) Scott, Todd (Natalie) McClelland, Jeff (Cayla) Mettenberger, and Lee Mettenberger; 8 great grandchildren; and 5 great great grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 110 W. Main St., Richmond on Thursday from 11 AM until time of funeral services at 12 Noon with Pastor Georgette Gaston officiating.

Burial will follow at Knoxville Cemetery in Toronto , OH.
