Eugene "Babo" Battlochi, 77, of Irondale , OH , passed away August 29, 2015 at Bowerston Pointe Nursing Home.

He was born in George's Run, Ohio on June 27, 1938. He was the son of the late Lula Washel and Eugene Battlochi.

He retired from Weirton Steel as a pipefitter and farming was his passion. In 2008 he received the farmer of the year award for Jefferson County. He was a long time member of the Jefferson County Sportsman Club and was a trap shooter.

Eugene is survived by his wife of 59 years, Genta "Janet" Battlochi; 7 children, Susan (Steve) Browning, Patty (Jay) Hutter, Cindy (Lee) Woods, Jeannie (Andy) Scardina, Geno (Shawna) Battlochi, Brenda (Ron) Holt, Angela Battlochi; 15 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.

Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 110 W. Main St., Richmond where funeral services will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11:00 AM.

Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Church Cemetery.
