Obituary

Eugene D. Cope, 83 of Richmond, Ohio formerly of Malvern and Amsterdam passed away Friday, April 2, 2010 at Valley Hospice Care Center North, Steubenville. He was born December, 24, 1926 in Cadiz, Ohio a son of the late John and Mamia Dawson Cope. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Sara Jane Wilkin Cope, whom he married on June 27, 1953 and passed 2005; a son, Eugene Donald Cope; a grandson, Dana Krankovich; two brothers, William and John Cope. Eugene was a Veteran of the US Army. He was a former member of the Amsterdam Moose Lodge, Fraternal Order of Eagles in Minerva, and Jolly Mixers of East Springfield. He was a lifelong Cleveland Browns and Indians fan. Eugene was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather whose wit and wisdom will be missed and remembered. He is survived by a daughter, Sally (Frank) Krankovich of Cadiz; two sons Rick (Tammy) Cope of Richmond and Todd Cope of New Philadelphia, OH; daughter-in-law, Mary Cope of Malvern; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 110 West Main St., Richmond on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral Services Tuesday 11 AM at the funeral home.
