Fred Moores, 95 of Richmond, Ohio passed away Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at Sienna Woods Nursing Home, Wintersville. Fred was a milk deliveryman for 40 years, first delivering for Powell's Dairy from January 1938 until April 1953 and then Sphan's Dairy until his retirement in 1978. He was a member of the Richmond United Methodist Church, Richmond Lions Club, and Richmond Historical Society. Fred was a veteran of the US Army serving in WWII.
Fred was born May 7, 1913 in Island Creek Twp., OH, a son of the late Joshua and Blanche Smyth Moores. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Gladys Miller Moores on May 6, 1986; two brothers, Earl and Frank Moores; four sisters, Florence Moores, Martha Moores, Luella Miller, and Virginia Moores.
He is survived by two sons, Kenneth (Roberta) Moores of Richmond, OH and James (Cynthia) Moores of Lyndhurst, OH, five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 110 West Main St., Richmond on Thursday, August 28, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral services at the funeral home Friday at 11 AM with Pastor Carol Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Richmond Union Cemetery with full military honors.
