Obituary

FREDA M. ROWE, 89, of Morningside Assisted Living in Beaufort, SC, formerly of Salineville, OH, passed away in Savannah, GA, Saturday, August 25, 2007 following a brief illness. She was a registered nurse who cared for baby John F. Kennedy, Jr., and then appeared as a contestant on the television show "What's My Line?" She was a band singer and a die-hard, "yellow dog" Democrat. Freda never met a stranger and was always ready for the next adventure. She was born in Salineville, OH, October 2, 1917, the only child of the late James and Mary (Van Royen) Woodward. She was married to Evan Keith Rowe of Bergholz who died on April 2, 1980. Freda is survived by a daughter, Maribeth Somers, of Port Royal, SC, and by two sons, Evan Keith Rowe, Jr. and his wife Jan of Boone, NC, and James W. Rowe and his partner Alison Davidow of Beaufort, SC; 6 grandchildren: Sarah Somers, Keith Somers and his wife Rhonda, Evan Keith Rowe III and his wife Nicole, Jimmy Rowe and his wife Tara, Elizabeth Rowe, and Molly Rowe; and 3 great-grandchildren: Billy Somers, Katy Somers and Tyler Rowe. Freda will be greatly missed by her extended family at Morningside. Friends may call at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 285 Second St., Bergholz Friday, August 31, 2007,from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Fr. John Tully at 1 PM Saturday, September 1, 2007 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Salineville. Following the Mass, Freda will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Bergholz Cemetery. Flowers are welcome. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made at www.doctorswithoutborders.org/donate.
