Obituary

George Thomas Crowe, 66, of Wintersville passed away on July 3, 2023, at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio.

George was born on November 10, 1956, to the late Robert Crowe and the late Helen Radvansky of Mingo Junction, Ohio.  George graduated from Mingo High School in 1975.

After graduating George worked hard to support his family with multiple labor-intensive jobs working for Conrail Railroad, Fort Steuben Metals, and American Electric Power, before finally retiring from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel (RG steel) in 2008.

George met Patricia M. Clotfelter while working at Fort Steuben Metals and they were later married on June 6, 1977. George and Pat went on to have 2 surviving children, Christine E. Crowe (Brande Brock) of Longs, South Carolina and Robert T Crowe (Darcey Quinn) of Steubenville, Ohio. Also surviving are his 3 very loved and adored grandchildren Trinity, Cooper, and his "lil Dawlin" Kyndal. George is the brother of Bill Crowe of Florida, Susan Stromp of Mingo, Robert (Bob) Crowe of Wintersville, and Richard Crowe of Wintersville. He also leaves behind multiple nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

George will be remembered for his love of sports and was heavily involved in coaching his kids and grandkids in baseball, softball, and football.  He was an avid Ohio State and Lynyrd Skynyrd fan, spending as much of his free time attending events and concerts with his close family and friends as he could. His love for his family, canine companions, sports, camping, traveling, slots, sarcasm, and good times will forever be missed by all who knew him and knew him well.

George was preceded in death by his parents Bob and Helen and his spouse Patricia M Crowe.

At his humble request, there will not be any funeral services or viewing. He had wished to be a body donor to the Cleveland Clinic to support medical research however due to unfortunate circumstances this wish could not be fulfilled.  Therefore, if you would like to contribute anything in his honor, please make donations to Cleveland Clinic Cancer Research or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
