George "Mac" Hamilton McGinness III, 85, of Bloomingdale, Ohio, passed away on May 10, 2025. He was born on September 30, 1939, in McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania, to the late George McGinness II and Louise L. (Carpenter) McGinness. In addition to his parents, Mac is preceded in death by his grandson, John Paul McGinness.

Mac worked many years before his retirement in the 90s from McGinness Brothers Coal Company.  He was a faithful member of the East Springfield Church of the Cross. He was also involved in the Bolivar Masonic Lodge #82, the Shriners, and the Eastern Star.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Ann (Harman) McGinness; his sons, Craig (Linda), Michael (Robin), Brian (Trish), and George (Rhonda) McGinness IV; his grandchildren, Kayla (Ryan), Jacob (Becca), Georgi (Brandon), Joey, Stephanie (Ian), Britney (AJ), Dustin (Corinne), Maverick, Marissa, Aly (Justin), Travis, Ashley (Dan), Cole, and Mac; and his great grandchildren, Gavin, McKenna, Amelia, Johnathon, McKenzie, Aubree, Grayson, Jo, Waylon, and one on the way.

Friends will be received at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 685 Canton Rd, Wintersville, Ohio, on Thursday, May 15, 2025, from 10 A.M. until time of services at 12 P.M. with Pastor Tom Snodgrass officiating. Burial will follow at Fort Steuben Burial Estates. Memorial contributions in his memory can be made to East Springfield Methodist Church of the Cross
