George Morton Mowry, 84 of Wintersville, Ohio passed away February 14, 2017 at his home. He was born June 30, 1932 in Buffalo Mills, PA a son of the late Henry Albert and Carrie "Betty" Mowry. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia "Susie" Mowry and a sister, Grace Virginia Hollaway.
He was retired from Mull Industries as a sales manager, was a Veteran of the US Navy serving during Korea War and was a member of Wintersville United Methodist Church.
George is survived by two sons, Patrick (Sharmin) Mowry of Moon Twp., PA and Edward Mowry of Weirton, WV; two daughters, Susan (Nick) Yenchochic of Wintersville and Rebecca (Jim) Bowman of Sanford, FL; companion, Rebecca Goleno; two brothers Clarence Mowry and John (Carol) Mowry; sister, Mary Ellen (Lou) Anthony; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 685 Canton Rd., Wintersville on Friday from 11 AM until time of funeral services at 1 PM with Pastor Robert Welch officiating.
