Gerald L. Risnear Sr., 86, of East Springfield, Ohio passed on to eternal life on March 15, 2022 under the care of Valley Hospice at Trinity West Health System. He was the son of the late Michael and Wilma Risnear. He is also preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Risnear and a son, Gerald Risnear Jr. Gerald was a devoted Methodist by faith. He retired from Weirton Steel and Ohio Valley Hospital as a security guard. He was also a Veteran of the United States Navy, having served his country during the Korean War. He enjoyed watching old Western shows, hanging out with his lifelong friend, Bill Mantos, and was an avid fisherman. He is survived by his brother, Gary (Susan) Risnear; a son, Daniel (Renee) Risnear; a daughter, Catherine Risnear; and a granddaughter, Chayna Engel. At Gerald's request, there will be no services held.
