Gertrude Engel, 89, of Wintersville , OH passed away January 2, 2013 at Gables Care Center , Hopedale.

She was born July 8, 1923 in Steubenville , OH , a daughter of the late Henry and Bertha Mae (Watt) Noble.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, John H. Engel; infant daughter, Barbara Engel; and brother, Henry Noble, Jr.

She was a member of the Richmond United Presbyterian Church. Gertrude was an avid golfer.

She is survived by her daughter, Karen (Edward) Hill of Wintersville and grandson, Daniel Hill of Wintersville.

Friend will be received on Friday from 5-8 PM at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 110 W. Main St. , Richmond where funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 AM .

Burial will follow at Union Cemetery , Steubenville .
