Obituary

GLADYS I. GRIMM, 89, formerly of Amsterdam, Ohio, passed away Saturday, October 30, 2010 in Bowerston Point Health Care Facility, Bowerston, Oh. She was born June 15, 1921 in Worthington, PA, a daughter of the late Charles and Alice Gaiser Bowser. On February 2, 1945, she married Clifford Grimm who preceded her in death on December 26, 1987. She retired from the old Miller's Restaurant in Carrollton and was a member of the Harsh Memorial United Methodist Church of Harlem Springs. She is survived by three children, Clifford N. Grimm, Jr. and wife Dorothy of Carrollton, Wilma Griffith of Bergholz and Laura Johnson of Carrollton. She is the oldest of 14 children. Surviving are 6 sisters, Bernice Beckley, Kilgore, Jean (Bradley) Alloway, Newport, Joan (Walter) Rinard, Rinard Mills, Ohio, Elma Howiler, Caldwell, Pauline (Joe) Romack, Tampa, Florida and Glee (Robert) Emerick, Marietta; 4 brothers and 3 sisters are deceased: Charles, John, James, Billy, Evelyn and Cynthia Bowser and Margaret Strickler. Gladys is survived by 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by son-in-law, Dick Johnson, 1 granddaughter, 1 great-grandson and 1 great-great-granddaughter. Friends may call at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 285 Second St., Bergholz on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM where funeral services will be held at 11 AM Thursday with Pastor Kimberly Arbaugh officiating. Burial will follow in the Harlem Springs Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Gladys' memory to Harsh Memorial United Methodist Church, 3167 Apollo Rd, SE, Carrollton, OH 44615.
