Helen “Melon” Marie Yates, born October 8, 1955, to the late Howard and Grace Yoho McBride, passed away unexpectedly on July 31, 2026, at the age of 70. She was surrounded by her loving husband, Harry Yates, and her family.

Helen embraced many cherished roles throughout her life. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, caring sister and aunt, and a proud grandmother and great-grandmother. Her love for her family was at the heart of the life she built.

Helen was blessed to share her life with her soulmate, Harry. Together, they celebrated 17 years of marriage in 2026. Rather than retire, Helen chose to continue working alongside Harry in security at the Cardinal Plant in Brilliant, Ohio - a reflection of the partnership they treasured.

Helen leaves behind her devoted husband, Harry; her son and daughter; her sisters; her nieces and nephews, her 10 grandchildren and her great granddaughter. She will be missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives she touched.

Friends will be received at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 685 Canton Rd, Wintersville, Ohio, on Sunday, August 9, 2026, from 6 P.M. until time of services at 8 P.M. with Pastor Bill Westling officiating.
