Obituary

Hilda M. Benton, 81, of Richmond, Ohio entered heavens gates on Wednesday, September 12,
2012 at Valley Hospice, Trinity East.

Hilda was born December 30, 1930, the daughter of the late Walter Ray and Blanche Johnson
Benton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother,
Alfred "Buster" Benton in 1989, a nephew, David Benton in 1960, sister-in-law,
Kathleen Benton in 1989, brother-in-law, Ken Larson in 2010 and a niece, Sherri
Peckens in 2011.

Hilda was a 1949 graduate of Jefferson Union High School, a 1952 graduate if the Ohio
Valley School of Nursing and a graduate of the Pittsburgh School of
Anesthesiology. During her nursing career, Hilda worked at Ohio Valley
Hospital, Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel and Carriage Inn Home Health. She was also
the first nurse on the emergency squad for Richmond Fire Department. Hilda was
a caregiver in every sense of the word, caring for others whenever and wherever
needed. Hilda attended several area churches in the past, the latest being the United
Methodist Church of the Cross in East Springfield. Because her caregiving prevented
her from being able to attend weekly services, she got her spiritual food from
Turning Point, Back to the Bible and several radio ministries. She was an avid
reader and a prayer warrior.

Hilda is survived by her sister Louella "Lou" Larson of Lapine, Alabama and brother
Charles Benton of Toronto. She was a loving aunt and supporter of Ken Stevens,
Mary Lou Emery, Ronda Scott, Jim Benton, Carol Canyock, Karen Martin, Joyce
Benton, Sheryl Huggans and Becky Chevalier. She is also survived by 8 great-nieces
and nephews; 9 great-great nieces and nephews and a sister-in-law, Ella Benton
of Toronto.

In keeping with her wishes there will be no viewing.
