HOWARD "LEE" HARDING, 81, of Salineville, OH, passed away March 9, 2010 in his home surrounded by his family.
He was born in Empire, Ohio May 4, 1928, a son of the late Harvey Eugene and Thelma Orwick Harding. He is also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Terry Lou Barber, a great-granddaughter, Destiny Grace Champion, a sister, Violet Hamilton, and two brothers, Dave Harding and Wayne Harding.
He had worked for the New York Central Railroad and retired from the Y & O #2 coal mine. He was an avid fisherman and loved to garden.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Grace (Baker) Harding; his children, Janey and Jerry Dale of Crystal River, Florida, Shirley Barber of Salineville, Ohio, Wayne and Judy Harding of Lovonia, Louisana and Charlotte Champion of Bowerston, Ohio.
He was a proud grandfather of 21 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren. He also has a brother, Harvey of Minerva, Ohio and a sister, Kay of Ashtabula, Ohio.
Friends may call at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 285 Second St., Bergholz on Thursday, March 11, 2010 from 6-8 PM and again on Friday, March 12, 2010 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Funeral services for Lee will be at the funeral home on Saturday, March 13, 2010 at 1 PM.
Burial will follow in the Mechanicstown Cemetery.
