Irene Goodwin, 89, of Wintersville passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on March 24, 2013 at Dixon Healthcare Center.

She was born December 9, 1923 in Steubenville, Ohio, a daughter of the late Homer and Ethel Mae (Cash) Richardson.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Goodwin and sister, Ethel Slater.

Irene has been a lifetime member of the First Christian Church of Steubenville. She was also a member of the East Springfield Senior Citizens.

Irene was a woman of fine character and was held in esteem by all who had her acquaintance. Her death will be regretted by a host of friends.

She is survived by her four children, Sandy (Earl) McLeish of Wintersville, OH, Joyce Blake of Newell, WV, Bill (Lisa) Goodwin of Somerset, PA, and Jerry (Angi) Goodwin of Richmond, OH; brother, Homer (Janice) Richardson of California; 16 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and 9 great-great grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 110 W Main St., Richmond on Thursday from 3 PM until time of funeral services at 6:30 PM with Pastor Trina Morgan officiating.

A private interment will be held at Union Cemetery, Steubenville.
