Irene J. Rowan, 77, of Bergholz , OH passed away Thursday, October 9, 2014 at Weirton Medical Center , WV .

She was born March 28, 1937 in Bergholz , OH , a daughter of the late Joseph, Sr. and Mary Jane (Turvey) Payne.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert L. Rowan, Sr., who passed away on February 18, 2007 ; son, Patrick J. Rowan who passed away February 18, 2008 ; and brother, Franklin Louis Payne.

Irene was a member at the Bergholz Church of Christ. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister.

Irene is survived by her 3 sons, Gilbert Lee Rowan, Jr. and wife Beth of Smithsburg, MD, Clint D. and wife Lisa of Blacklick, OH, and Scott M. and wife Michelle of Bergholz; 10 grandchildren, Michael, Emily, Kehlsey, Corrina, Preston, Alicia, James, Clint, Staci, and Karissa; great grandchild, Jase LeRoy; brothers, Joseph (Janet) Payne of Costonia, Robert (Debbie) Payne of Knoxville, and Louie Payne of New Somerset; and sisters, Helen Wilkin of Amsterdam, Rosa (Steve) Pahides of Mingo Jct., and Lova Westlake of New Somerset.

Friends will be received on Monday at the Bergholz Church of Christ, First and Jefferson Sts., Bergholz from 11:00 AM until time of funeral services at 2 PM with Pastor Dave Miller officiating.

Burial will follow at Bergholz Cemetery .
