JACOB RANDALSON, 94, of Bergholz, OH, passed away Monday, March 19, 2007 in Trinity Medical Center East, Steubenville following an extended illness. He was a retired coal miner machine operator for Y and O Coal Company and was owner/operator of the Brush Creek Coal Co. and Randalson Coal Co. He was a member of the United Mine Workers Assn. and St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Amsterdam.
He was born March 28, 1913 in Brownsville, PA, a son of the late Carl S. and Carmella (Laverti) Randalson. He is also preceded in death by 2 brothers and 2 sisters. He is survived by his wife, Frances A. (Damico) Randalson; by 2 sons, Jacob Randalson and wife Sue of Carrollton and Carl S. Randalson and wife Kathy of Amsterdam, and a daughter, Carmella Scopel and husband Elio of Amsterdam; by 2 sisters, Mary and Rosie both of St. Louis, Mo, a brother, James Randalson, Bergholz, 9 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 285 Second St., Bergholz, Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM with a Vigil Service at 3:45 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Fr. John McCoy 11 AM Friday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Amsterdam. Burial will follow in Bergholz Cemetery.
