IN LOVING MEMORY OF
James "Jim"
Bane
November 15, 1963 – November 15, 2025
James "Jim" Richard Bane, 62, of Wintersville, Ohio, passed away on November 15, 2025. Born on November 15, 1963, in Weirton, WV, Jim left this world on his birthday while doing what he loved most—spending time with his family and watching football. He is preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Joanne (Bonacci) Bane; his daughter, Alicia Bane; his sister, Rhonda Demos; father-in-law, Jeff King, Sr.
Jim was a proud carpenter with the Carpenters Local 186, where he dedicated many years to his craft. He was also a longtime member of the Mingo Sportsman's Club. Known for his generous spirit and his huge smile, Jim was the kind of person who would give the shirt off his back to help someone in need. His kindness, humility, and giving heart defined who he was. Above all, Jim was an amazing husband and father. He cherished his family deeply. Jim also made a powerful impact on countless young people throughout the community. Affectionately known as "Coach Bane," he devoted many years to coaching and mentoring. He coached the Mingo Chiefs, the Wintersville Girls Softball League, and, most recently, the Steubenville Saints—where this past summer he was often found happily handing out popsicles to players after games. His enthusiasm, encouragement, and big-hearted nature made him beloved by every athlete he coached. Jim's legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the lessons he taught, and the love he gave so freely. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jennifer L. (King) Bane; his sons, Aaron (Tricia) Bane and J.J. Bane; his daughter, Jayna Ziklo; his siblings, Belinda (Gary) Mull of Weirton, Robert (Janet) Hans of New Cumberland, Bryan Bane of Wintersville, Valerie (Tim) Ohalek of Wintersville, and Rosalie (Tim) Demos of Wintersville; mother-in-law, Joyceann King; his brother-in-law, Jeff (Maddie) King; his dear friend/neighbor, Diane "Gommy" Van-Horn; his soon to be grandson, Conner James; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received for visitation at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 685 Canton Rd, Wintersville, Ohio, on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M. A funeral service will be held the following day, Thursday, November 20, 2025, at the funeral home at 11 A.M. with Pastor Clint Quillen officiating.
