JAMES WILLIAM BISHOP, age 91, of Wintersville, OH, passed away Thursday, April 3, 2008 at Gables Care Center, Hopedale. He was retired from Weirton Steel Corp. as diesel repairman, was a member of the Bloomingdale Presbyterian Church and the Unionport Masonic Lodge #333, F & AM. He was born December 8, 1916 in Amsterdam, OH, a son of the late Marion and Sarah (Kirkland) Bishop. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Josephine (Thompson) Bishop, two brothers, John Bishop and Marion "Red" Bishop, two infant siblings, Walter and Sarah Louise Bishop and a sister, Eleanor Bishop. He is survived by his daughter, Florene Bishop of Orlando, Florida, a son, Larry Bishop and wife Charlotte of Richmond and a sister, Jeanette Domer and husband, Wylie "Pete" of Lakeland, Florida; three grandchildren, Daniel (Jill) Bishop, and Evan (Lara) Bishop, all of Lewis Center, OH and Melissa (Ryan) Mairs, Ashland, OH. In addition to his family members, he will be sadly missed by his friends and his Gables Care family. Friends may call at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 110 West Main St., Richmond Friday from 6 until 9 PM and Saturday from 10 AM until time of funeral services at 11 AM.
