James William Grant 84 of Hopedale, Ohio passed away Friday, September 24, 2021 at Trinity West, Steubenville. He was born March 27, 1937 in Cannonsburg, Pennsylvania. A son of the late Chalmer and Gay (Hysel) Grant.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jane Grant; two brothers, Howard and Ralph Grant.

Jim was a painter with the union and then a custodian for various schools in Harrison Hills. He enjoyed playing the harmonica, banjo, guitar and also played in the band. He was a proud member of the NRA, was great at woodworking, and enjoyed fishing.

He is survived by his children, Sandy (Dan) Salacienski, James (Dreanne) Grant, and Melinda Grant; sister, Ruth Higgs; grandchildren, Samantha, Amanda, Emily, and Audrey; six great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 685 Canton Rd, Wintersville on Tuesday from 3:30 until time of funeral services at 7:30 PM with Pastor Dean Blythe officiating. Private burial at Fort Steuben Burial Estates.
