James Richard Pierce, Sr., 67, of Wintersville, OH, passed away December 3, 2015 at Trinity Medical Center West, Steubenville.

He was born November 14, 1948 in Littleton, WV, a son of the late James W. and Pearl (Pierson) Pierce.

James was Catholic by faith.

He was a former member of Pleasant Hill Fire Department.

James is survived by his sons, Christopher (Maria) Pierce of Steubenville, OH, James Pierce, Jr. of Wintersville, OH, and Denis Pierce of Ft. Wayne, IN; sister, Doris Medley; grandchildren, Anthony, Rocco, and Matteo Pierce; friend and former wife, Cynthia Hoerchler; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends will be received on Sunday from 4-7 PM at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 685 Canton Rd., Wintersville where funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:00 AM with Father John McCoy officiating.

Burial will follow at Ft. Steuben Burial Estates, Wintersville.
