James A. Saunders, 76 of East Springfield, Ohio passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2009 in Lancia Villa Royale Nursing Home Steubenville. He was born August 22, 1932 in Steubenville, Ohio, a son of the late Estel and Dorothy Andrews Saunders. He was a Veteran of the Marine Corp. serving as a Sgt. during the Korean Conflict. He was owner and operator of Tri-State Business Machines. Jim also was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in East Springfield where he served as a trustee. Jim loved being with his children and grandchildren. Jim is survived by his loving wife Catherine Sprouse Saunders, whom he married on March 22, 1952. Two sons Gregory (Ruth Ann) Saunders of Bloomingdale and Michael (Sharon) Saunders of Smithfield. Two daughters, Debbie (Charles) Brown of Bergholz and Diane Robson of Wintersville. Son-in-law, Douglas Robson of Bloomingdale. A brother, Robert (Marilyn) Saunders of Erie, Pa. Two sisters, Jo Ann Cain of Amsterdam and Carol (Robert) "Butch" Townsend of Mingo Jct. Grandchildren, Bryan Robson, Stacy Robson, Matthew Saunders, Kelly Saunders, Julie Saunders, and Jacob Saunders. Friends may call at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 110 West Main St., Richmond on Thursday from 5-8 PM. Funeral services at the funeral home Friday at 11 AM with the Reverend James Stafford officiating. Burial will follow at East Springfield cemetery.
