James Dale Shannon, 51, of Irondale, OH, passed away January 4, 2015.

He was born February 9, 1963 in Steubenville, OH, a son of the late Harley E., Sr. and Joyce (Pisklo) Shannon.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his sisters, Louise Shannon and Mary Ann Marsh.

James worked for the Herald Star and Weirton Daily Times.

He is survived by his sons, Matthew Charles Shannon of Toronto, OH, James Dale Shannon, Jr. of Toronto, OH, and step-son, Martin Hoffman of Toronto, OH; brothers, Gary Shannon of Irondale, OH, Harley "Butch" (Mary) Shannon of Lisbon, OH, and Terry (Charlotte) Shannon of Hammondsville, OH; sisters, Kay Shannon of Steubenville, OH and Norma (Cecil) Chase of Toronto, OH; and 7 grandchildren.

Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 285 Second St., Bergholz where funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 AM

Burial will follow at Bergholz Cemetery.
