JAMES "Jay" A. SHELTON, 73, of Richmond, OH, passed away Friday, July 9, 2010 in Trinity Medical Center West, Steubenville, OH. He was born May 18, 1937 in Toronto, OH, a son of the late Huber C. and Garnet M. Miller Shelton. He is also preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Barbara (Householder) Shelton who died February 27, 2010 and a brother, Wayne Shelton. After retiring from the old M & M Bank where he had served as Assistant Vice President, Jay was an ambulette driver for ASI of Steubenville for 13 years. He was an honorary member of the Richmond American Legion Post #740 and played taps for various veteran events for 59 years. He was a member of the Richmond United Methodist Church, the Tri-State Harmonizers and the Y's Men's Club. He is survived by his children, Beth Anne (Jeffery) Wiley of Hockessin, Delaware and Jay David (Angela) Shelton of Richmond, a brother, Robert (Joann) Shelton of Norwalk, Ohio, a sister, Carol (Allison Cusick) Shelton of Pittsburgh, PA and grandchildren, Douglas Wiley, Julia Shelton and Cara and Paige Arthurs. Friends may call at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 110 West Main St., Richmond on Sunday from 12 Noon until 4 PM and again from 6 PM until 8 PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 11 AM Monday, July 12, with the Reverend Carol Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Richmond Union Cemetery.
