Jean M. Yocum, 86, of Richmond, OH, passed away December 2, 2015 at the Laurels of Steubenville.

She was born April 25, 1929 in Wheeling, WV, a daughter of the late Paul W. and Mary H. (Doak) Alvey.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her daughter, Paula Ann Yocum and brother, Robert and twin brother, James Alvey.

She was Protestant by faith. Jean taught nursery school at Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church for several years.

She is survived by her husband, Merrell "Joe" Yocum who she married on July 1, 1946; children, Bill (Elida) Yocum of Steubenville, Janet (Robert) Hoobler of Toronto, Patricia (Kenneth) Simeral of Richmond, Mark Yocum of Steubenville, and Kathryn Yocum of Richmond; many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family at Union Cemetery, Steubenville.
