Jessie A. Long, 88, of Richmond, OH, passed away February 26, 2016 at her home. She was born February 18, 1928 in Steubenville, OH, a daughter of the late Fred and Frances (Kerr) Walker.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Dio Cecil Long who passed away October 8, 1998.

Jessie was a member of the Richmond United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women Church Choir, and Richmond American Legion Post 740 Auxiliary. She volunteered for many years at the Ohio Valley Hospital.

Jessie was known as being the most patriotic person in Richmond.

She is survived by her sons, Richard (Merri Lynn) Long of Richmond, Eric (Kimberly) Long of Richmond, and Dirk (Beverly) Long of East Springfield; daughter, Linda C. (William) Atkins of Cadiz; grandchildren, Stephanie, Zachary, Kristen, Kaitie, Kylie, and Kiersten; and great grandchild, Aiden.

Friends will be received on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 110 W. Main St., Richmond where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1 PM.

Burial will follow at Richmond Union Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
