Obituary
Jewell D. Dayton, 87, of Smithfield, OH, passed away February 27, 2017 at Valley Hospice Care Center North, Steubenville, OH.
He was born September 16, 1929 in McKeefrey, WV, a son of the late Charles and Mary (Err) Dayton.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley J. Dayton; and 7 siblings.
Jewell served his country in the United States Army. He retired from Timet in Toronto, OH.
He is survived by his sons, Ron (Rena) Dayton of Steubenville, Brian (Judy) Dayton of Mingo Jct., and Kevin (Patty) Dayton of Columbus; daughter, Sheryl (Gary) Butto of Wintersville; 9 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.
Friends will be received on Wednesday from 3-6 PM at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 685 Canton Rd., Wintersville where funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM with Pastor Jeff Greco officiating.
Burial will follow at Ft. Steuben Burial Estates, Wintersville with full Military Honors.
