JoAnn Lee (Queen) Birney of Richmond, OH passed away February 4, 2016 at her home.
She was born January 16, 1933 in Steubenville, OH, a daughter of the late Guy and Netta (Blackburn) Queen.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Donald Birney who passed away May 22, 2005; sister, Mae Evans and brother, John Franklin Queen.
JoAnn was an active member of Richmond United Methodist Church, Urban Mission, Hunger Board, Lioness, and King's Daughters and Sons.
She worked as a secretary for Edison Local School District for over 27 years.
She is survived by her children, Ruth Ann (Thomas) Blackburn of Richmond, Thomas C. Birney of Jewett, and Cynthia (Joseph) Carducci of Toronto; 5 grandchildren, Nicole (Gino) Williams, Derek Birney, Todd Birney, Lauren Carducci, and Marissa Carducci; great grandchildren, Nicco and Gia Williams; brother-in-law, Robert (Linda) Birney; nephew, Doug (Kathy) Birney; and niece, Sherry (Pat) McCoy.
Friends will be received Sunday from 2-7 PM at Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 110 W. Main St., Richmond where funeral services will be held Monday at 11 AM with Pastor Georgette Gaston officiating.
Burial will follow at Richmond Union Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Urban Mission, Richmond United Methodist Church, or EGCC Scholarship Fund.
