Joe Plavka, 87 of Bergholz, Ohio passed away Sunday, February 24, 2008 at Lancia Villa Royale, Steubenville. Joe was a WWII veteran of the US Army, an employee of the Ford Motor Co., and a member of the Bergholz Church of Christ.
Joe was born October 23, 1920 in Eastern, OH near Bergholz, a son of the late Paul and Theresa Plavka. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers Paul and Rudy Plavka and two sisters Mary LeMaster and Rose Taylor.
Joe is survived by his loving wife Doris Riggs Plavka, whom also resided with him at Lancia's. Three daughters, Joyce Worwa of Yorkville, OH, Connie Plavka of Bergholz, OH, and Linda Shirey of Boardman, OH. A sister, Anna Lewandoski of Bergholz, OH. Three grandchildren, Richard Plavka, Eleanor Worwa, and Stanley Worwa. A great-grandson, Brian.
