Joel B. Marsh, Sr., 73, of Steubenville, OH passed away January 20, 2014 at his home.

He was born March 25, 1940 in Steubenville, OH, a son of the late Clarence and Mildred (Butler) Marsh.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his three brothers, Jack, James, and Jerry Marsh and two sisters, Joycelyn and Janice.

Joel attended Big Red High School and graduated in 1958. He attended Akron University in 1996 with an associate degree in behavioral sciences.

He is survived by his seven children, Joel Marsh, Jr. in Steubenville, OH, Grant Marsh of Steubenville, OH, Jim (Tammi) Marsh of Richmond, OH, Jason (Jody) Marsh of Steubenville, OH, Greg (Cairn) Marsh of Steubenville, OH, Angel Marsh of Steubenville, OH, and Holly (Jim) Crites of Amsterdam, OH; his close friend and ex-wife, Joyce Marsh and Kenneth Kaine; sisters, Joyce Lucas of Akron, OH, Janelle (Pete) Brothers of Wintersville, OH, and Joann (Pinkey) Kane of Steubenville, OH; brother, Jay (Linda) Marsh of Dayton, OH; and grandchildren, Moriah Hillman of New York, Alexis (Mitchell) June of Colorado, Jim "Pooge" Marsh and Savana Marsh of Richmond, OH, Jared Marsh of Wintersville, OH, Zachary Marsh and Katilyn Boniey of Steubenville, Chloe and Ben Fray of Amsterdam, OH.

Friends will be received at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 685 Canton Rd., Wintersville on Thursday from 4 PM until time of funeral services at 7 PM with the Reverend Jason Elliott officiating.
