John "Johnny" Chester Baker, 53, of Amsterdam, Ohio, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2025. He was born on July 6, 1972, in Steubenville, Ohio, to John A. Baker and the late Loretta Culp. In addition to his mother, Johnny is preceded in death by his sister, Lynn Baker.

Johnny worked at the Amsterdam VFW for many years. Johnny was a graduate of the Ohio School for the Deaf. He had a great love for animals and was involved with 4-H during his youth.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his step mother, Colleen Smitsky; his step father, Gerald Pyle; his brothers, Tommy Baker, Craig (Kim) Brummel, Scott Brummel, Mark Blancato, and Jimmy Baker; his sister, Amy Baker; and his many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 285 Second St, Bergholz, Ohio, on Friday, September 26, 2025, from 3 P.M. until time of services at 6 P.M. with Pastor Bill Grimes officiating.
