John E. Cordier, Sr., of Mechanicstown, OH, went home to be with the Lord, he was surrounded by his loving family at Aultman Hospital.
He was a Christmas baby born on December 25.
After a successful career in painting and contracting business in Florida he moved to Bergholz. John was a Godly man of good humor who served his Lord and his church, the Chestnut Ridge Methodist Church. He loved his family and his community and belonged to the Canton Edgefield AARP Chapter 2267.
He was preceded in death by his parents Willard Edison Cordier and Helen Julia (Brankel) Cordier and his former wife, Barbara Cordier.
He is survived by his wife of 11 years, Barbara Lynn Cordier; daughters, Maureen George (Sherry) of Hanahan, SC, Judith (Harry) Burns of Port St. Lucie, Florida; son, John E. Cordier, Jr. Of Minerva, OH; step children, Mike (Danielle) Furbee and Jenn (David) Matthews both of Bergholz, OH; sisters, Jane Pope, Carol Sponseller, Sally Larke, and Lucinda (Robert) Miner all of Canton, OH; brother, David (Bonnie) Cordier of Largo, Florida; grandchildren, Paige, Alex, and Jade; several nieces and nephews; and he will be missed by his beloved dog, Lily Bell
Friends will be received at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 285 Second St., Bergholz on Friday from 10 AM until time of funeral services at 12 Noon with Pastor Lee Iden officiating.
