JOHN H. ENGEL, 91, of Richmond, OH, passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2009 in the Trinity Medical Center West Emergency Room. He was born in Steubenville, OH May 23, 1918, a son of the late Harry J. and Mollie Engel. He is also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Barbara, 5 brothers, Louis, Harry and 3 infants and a sister, Helen Furbay. Following his military tour in the US Army during WWII, he worked at Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel as a pump repairman. He was an avid golfer and member of the Richmond Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Gertrude Noble Engel, by a daughter, Karen and husband Edward Hill of Wintersville, and a grandson, Daniel Hill. Friends may call at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 110 West Main St., Richmond Saturday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM where funeral services will be held at 2 PM Sunday with Pastor John Hearn officiating.
