JOHN EDWARD NIGHMAN, 59, of Amsterdam, OH, died suddenly in his home of natural causes Monday, November 20, 2006. He was retired from Carlton Tree Farms and was a veteran of the US Army having served 13 months in Vietnam with the 101st Airborn Division. He was a member of the Amsterdam Veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 232, the Amsterdam Moose and the DAV. Eddy was born in Akron, OH January 10, 1947, a son of the late Charles Lee and Eileen M. (Gardner) Nighman. He is also preceded in death by a brother, Donald and a sister, Mary C. Pontius. He is survived by two brothers, Bill (Rhonda) Nighman of Cuyahoga Falls, OH and Terry (Margie) Nighman of Bergholz. Memorial services will be held at 2 PM Sunday, December 3, 2006 at the Amsterdam Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 232, 412 Liberty Street in Amsterdam. Interment will be in a family plot in Stow, OH at a later date. Eddy's arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 110 West Main St., Richmond.
