John M. Palmer, 64, of Toronto, OH, passed away March 27, 2014 at Carriage Inn of Steubenville after a short but valiant battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig 's Disease).
He was born September 19, 1949 in Steubenville, OH, a son of the late Casper Arvel and Marie (Huggins) Palmer.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brother, Clarence Wingo and sisters, Nellie (Chuck) Poole and Eunice (Jim) Donahue.
John was a member at the Voice of Pentecost, Weirton. He was a member of Boy Scouts of America.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Peggie (Dreyer) Palmer; an adopted son, David Stevens of Toronto; daughters, Jan (Larry) Rohrbaugh of Newark, OH and Jenny Spitler of Toronto; brother, Arvel (Pat) Palmer of Zanesville, OH; sisters, Rachel Creekbaum of Mingo Jct., OH and Flora (Pete) Tomanio of Follansbee, WV; grandchildren, Jenna Spitler, Jacob Rohrbaugh, and Logan Rohrbaugh.
A memorial service will be held at Voice of Pentecost, 160 Mendenhall St., Weirton on April 5, 2014 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Robert Keenan and Pastor Robert Wood officiating.
