John "Jack" Parks, III, 74, of Richmond, OH, passed away in his home Wednesday, December 13, 2006 of natural causes. He was a retired BOF foreman at Weirton Steel Co. and a Protestant by faith. He was a veteran of the 82nd Airborne Division of the US Air Force and member of the Wintersville American Legion Post #557.
Jack was born in Steubenville, OH December 18, 1931, a son of the late John H. Parks III and Marie Stewart Parks. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Cooper who died April 4, 2005, and two brothers, Howard and Stewart Parks. He is survived by a son, John H. Parks, IV, two daughters, Janice "Poodie" Parks and Michelle (Jamie) Howell and two grandchildren, Tanner Young and Carrson Howell, all of Richmond.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday for Jack at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 110 West Main St., Richmond with the Rev. John Hearn officiating. Visitation is Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
