John E Rayburn, 86, of Steubenville, Ohio passed away January 18,2022.  He was born January 11, 1936 at home in Steubenville along with his twin Joyce (Rayburn) Miles.  John was the son of the late Joseph and Pearl (Reynolds) Rayburn. He was a graduate of Big Red High School. He retired as a photographer from Carl Mansfield Studio where he worked since age 15.  John was an avid runner and ran many years to and from work along Sunset Blvd between the studio on 4th Street and his home in Wintersville.  During Johns' many years of running he competed in over 70 official marathons including Boston, New York, and many others. His furthest distance ran was on his 40th birthday when he ran 40 miles from the Point in Pittsburgh to downtown Steubenville.

In addition to his parents John was proceeded in death by his wife, Suzanne (Bechtol) Rayburn, sister, Maelee Davis,

and brother, Charlie Rayburn.

Surviving him are his family who will miss him dearly:  sisters, Joyce (Wm) Miles (his twin) and Joanna Carter. Brothers, Joe (Beverly) and Jim (Pat) Rayburn.  His children; Susan (Greg) Essig, Barbara (John) Raught, John C. (Pennie) Rayburn. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren; Jamie (Jeremy) Jones, Jenna (Jared) Gossett, Travis (Emily) Raught, Nick (Corinne) Raught, & Rachel Raught.  He also has 4 great-grandchildren, Hannah, Emma, Rowan, & Joey.  He also was Uncle Johnny to many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received on Saturday from 10 AM until time of funeral services at 12 Noon at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 685 Canton Rd. Wintersville, OH 43953.  Burial will follow at Fort Steuben Burial Estates, Wintersville, OH. The family requests masks at the funeral home.
