Obituary

JOHN R. SAPP, 90, of Richmond, OH, passed away Monday, January 29, 2007 in Trinity Medical Center West, Steubenville following an extended illness. He was a retired self-employed water and oil well driller, a graduate of the old Amsterdam High School and a member of the Richmond United Methodist Church. He was a 69 year member of the Unionport Masonic Lodge, #333, F & AM, the Valley of Steubenville Ancient Scottish Rite, the Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons, Carrollton, the Aladdin Temple Shrine Club, Steubenville, the Eastern Star Chapter 360, Unionport. John was a a 56 year member of the Richmond Lions Club, a former member of the Richmond Fire Department and former board member of the Jefferson-Union School District. He was born July 12, 1916 in Osage, OH, a son of the late John Edgar and Elma (Wiles) Sapp. He is also preceded in death by a sister, Leona Wilson. He is survived by his wife, Alice Juanita "Bobbi" (Jackson) Sapp, a daughter, Patricia J. Sapp, Key West, FL, a son, Dr. Gerald S. Sapp and wife, Daria of Barrington Hills, IL, a grandson, Anson B. Sapp and wife, Kimberly and great-grandchildren, Kalena and Dalton Sapp. Friends may call at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 110 West Main St., Richmond Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM where funeral services will be held at 11 AM Thursday with the Reverend Carol Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Ft. Steuben Burial Estates, Wintersville. Masonic services will be at 6:45 PM Wednesday followed immediately by Lions services.
