John T. "Jack" Ingram Jr., 72, of Wintersville, OH, passed away Thursday, September 1, 2016 at the Valley Hospice, Steubenville.
He was born in Washington, PA, April 4, 1944, a son of the late John T. and Wilma Aline Dunning Ingram.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah (Osborne) Ingram; sons, John Michael (Lori) and Kevin J. (Sharlene) Ingram, Jesse A. Eckenrode and companion, Alicia Abate; brother, James T. Ingram; sisters, Dawn (Russ) Romines, Kathy (Tom) Nichols, and Debbie Cofransceo and Chris Barrett; grandchildren, Jacob Michael Ingram, Jeremy and Brian James, and Taylor Eckenrode; and great-grandchildren, Joseph and Ian James.
He retired as a maintenance foreman with First Energy at the W H Sammis Plant. He was a member of the High Stack Club and enjoyed fishing, especially in Canada, a Dale Earnhart NASCAR fan and a huge Steelers fan.
He graduated in 1962 from the old Brilliant Memorial High School, then served his country during the Viet Nam era with the U.S. Army. He is a member of the Wintersville American Legion. He served as a New Alexander Village councilman.
Jack was an active area volunteer fireman, having joined the Wintersville Volunteer Dept in April of 1995. He rarely missed a bingo. He worked bingo for Wintersville, Hopedale, Belvedere and Richmond, as well as Blessed Sacrament Church.
Jack received the Wintersville Volunteer Appreciation Award in 1999 and in 2003, and the Richmond 2009 Bingo Worker of the Year.
He attended the Wintersville Church of the Nazarene Church.
Friends may call at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 685 Canton Road, Wintersville, on Monday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., and again on Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. until time of funeral services at 1:30 p.m. with Reverend Matt Llewellyn officiating.
Burial will follow in Ft. Steuben, Wintersville.
