John F. Wallace, 88 of Steubenville, Ohio passed away Monday, September 21, 2020 at the Laurels of Steubenville. He was born June 16, 1932 Holidays Cove, WV a son of the late Cyril and Louise (Brenz) Wallace. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley (Long) Wallace; step-father, Wilhart Salo; two sisters, Marion Bock and Betty Lou Hornbecker.
John is survived by five daughters, Linda (Mike) Burke, Susan (Alan) Sampson, Julie (Jim) O'Brien, Melissa (Greg) Turick, Amy (Rob) Westlake; two brothers, William (Judy) Wallace and Thomas (Betty) Salo; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
John was a Veteran of the US Air Force serving during the Korean War. He was a member of the Toronto Masonic Lodge #583, Scottish Rite Valley of Steubenville, Royal Arch #221, Toronto Union Council, Steubenville Commandry #11, Osiris Temple Wheeling, Grace Lutheran Church. He was retired from Timet as a millwright for 37 years.
The family would like to thank Charity Hospice and the Laurels for their compassionate and excellent care.
Friends will be received at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home. 685 Canton Rd., Wintersville on Friday from 10 AM until time of services at 1 PM with Rev. Michael Heckathorn officiating.
