John E. Wells, Sr., 69 of Toronto, Ohio passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2010 at Trinity Medical Center West, Steubenville. He was a Veteran of the US Marine Corp, following his tour of duty in Vietnam he served in the US Army Reserves. John was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel where he worked at the blast furnace and also a retired farmer. He was a member of the Rush Run Community Chapel. John was born on March 26, 1941 in Mingo Jct., Ohio, a son of the late Woodrow S. and Lucille Catherine Eddy Wells. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Ned Ivan Wells; two brothers Jess Wells and Harry Wells; two great-grandchildren. John is survived by seven children, Frank E., John E. Jr., William S. all of Steubenville; James A. of Westland, MI, Patti (David) Toth of Toronto, OH, Louise (Harold) Bittinger of Paris, PA, Georgeanne (Everett) McGraw of Amsterdam, OH; three brothers, Woodrow S. Wells, Jr. of Toronto, Hershel and Ray Wells both of Steubenville; three sisters, Margaret Robinson of Steubenville, Clara (Tony) Steupelli of Salt Lake City, UT, Mary (Fred) Bridenthal of Big Prairie, OH; twenty grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 685 Canton Rd., Wintersville on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM.
