Josephina Marie (Avoli) Velto, age 84, died March 3, 2015 at Crestmont Nursing Home of Fenton, MI.

She was born on July 30th, 1930, in Steubenville, Ohio, a daughter of the late Gentilena and Saverino(Sam) Avoli.

Josephina worked 18 years at Harts Department Store in Wintersville, Ohio, and upon retirement, she volunteered at the Trinity Medical Center West Gift Shop.

She was a member of the Holy Rosary Parish, the Catholic Women's Club, and of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Council.

Josephina enjoyed bowling, loved to cook, and was known for her homemade Italian food and pies. Her love for dogs was as enormous as her profound love for family and friends.

Josephina was preceded in death by her husband, Patsy, and granddaughter, Kerri Lynn Velto.

Surviving are children Frank and wife Joni Velto of Wintersville, OH, Cynthia Vandendries of Grand Blanc, MI; grandchildren Shawn Velto, Garrett (fiancée Jenessa) Vandendries, and Corey (Cyndi) Vandendries; Two great-granddaughters Jillian and Natalie Velto; siblings Audrey Tenaglia of Lawrence, PA, and brother Augie Avoli of Benita Springs, FL; several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received from 3-8 pm Sunday, March 8, 2015 at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 685 Canton Rd., Wintersville, OH.

Funeral Liturgy with mass will be held at 10 AM on Monday, March 9, 2015 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church on Rosemont Ave., Steubenville, OH.

Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Steubenville.

A Vigil Service will be held Sunday at 3 PM at the funeral home.
