Joyce Rayburn Miles, 90, of Wintersville passed away on July 9th in Valley Hospice. She was born January 11, 1936 in Steubenville, Ohio to the late Joseph and Pearl Rayburn.
In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her 6 siblings, JoAnna Carter, Maelee Davis, Charles Rayburn, twin brother John Rayburn, Joseph Rayburn, and James Rayburn.
Joyce was a proud graduate of Steubenville High School class of 1953. She spent many nights in Harding Stadium cheering on the Big Red football team and band. After high school, she worked as a secretary at Harry Thoburn Oldsmobile and in later years at Pony Trucking. Most of her life was spent as a happy homemaker. She married William Miles in 1959 and they celebrated their 67th anniversary on June 26th. She enjoyed cooking, cleaning, gardening, and sewing. She loved spending time with her family! Many happy memories will be treasured by all, of family gatherings throughout the years.
She was a long time member of Grace Lutheran Church in Steubenville.
Joyce is survived by her husband, William Miles, daughters Brenda LaRue (Dan) of Wintersville, and Chris Georgiafandis (George) of Knoxville, TN., four grandchildren, Corey LaRue, Frank LaRue (Erica), Anthony Georgiafandis (Despina), and Eleni Caras (John), and 2 great-granddaughters, Ella Georgiafandis and Emeleia Caras, and many nieces and nephews whom she loved very much.
Funeral services will be held at Grace Lutheran Church on Monday, July 13, 2026, at 11 A.M. with Pastor Michael Heckathorn officiating.
Burial will follow at Fort Steuben Burial.
