Kathleen J. Mallernee, 89, of Bergholz, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at St. Luke's Lutheran Home in North Canton, Ohio.

She was born May 26, 1928 in Bergholz, Ohio, a daughter of the late Daniel "Boone" and Nellie (Day) Davis.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, J. Ray Mallernee, who passed away August 11, 2017; a son, D. Bruce Mallernee who preceded her in death in 1998; and sister, Mary Louise Bendle.

Kathleen was a member of the Bergholz Church of Christ and Ladies Aid Society.

She worked as a secretary at Springfield High School until her retirement in 1998.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Deborah Mallernee; two granddaughters, Kierston (Adam) Hobaugh and Mylissa (George) Stout; two great-granddaughters, Myka Marie Hobaugh and Nora June Hobaugh; sisters, Jacky Hendricks and Harriet Davis; brother, Bob (Barbara) Davis; sister-in-law, Jean Freas, two brothers-in-law, Dual Mallernee and Earl (Patricia) Mallernee; many devoted nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 285 Second St., Bergholz on Saturday, September 2, 2017 from 10 AM until time of funeral services at 11:30 AM with Pastor David Miller officiating.

Burial will follow at Bergholz Cemetery.
