Kathleen S. Owens, 88, of Wintersville, OH passed away May 14, 2014 at Trinity Medical Center West, Steubenville.

She was born April 2, 1926 in Eliasville, Texas, a daughter of the late Newell and Leda (Van Horne) Stevens.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Max L. Owens; daughter, Barbara Logan; granddaughter, Martha Dear; great grandchildren, Elijah, Paisley, and Brady Lamp.

Kathleen was an honor graduate and valedictorian of South High School in Akron Class of 1944 and attended both Ohio State and Franciscan University. She was a former teacher in the Athens Union School District of Harrison County and a former stenographer at the University of Texas.

She was an ordained deacon and elder of the Presbyterian Church and an organist and active member of the Bloomingdale Church.

Kathleen is survived by her daughter, Ilore (Keith) Wilson; grandchildren, Jeremy (Michelle) Wilson and Brittany (Jimmy) Lamp; grandson-in-law, Terry Dear; great grandchildren, Isabella and Benjamin Wilson, Emma and Parker Lamp, Tori and Terry Dear, Jr.

The family would like to thank a wonderful ICU nurse who was a rock of support at Trinity West.

Friends will be received at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 685 Canton Rd., Wintersville on Friday, May 16, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m.
