Kathryn Alvey 93 of Wintersville, Ohio passed away Monday, January 31, 2022 at The Laurels of Steubenville under the care of Southern Care Hospice. She was born September 3, 1928 in Weirton, WV, a daughter of the late Vincent and Grace (Ely) Spear. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Alvey; two brothers, Earl and Vincent Spear; sister, Esther Hauck. Kathryn was a member of Wintersville Baptist Temple.

She is survived by her son, James (Carol) Alvey Jr. of Richmond; grandchildren, Michelle (Jay) Gault of Wellsburg, WV and Scott (Jodi) Alvey of St. Clairsville; great-grandchildren, Julia Purks, Joshua, Jacob, and Katie Alvey.

There will be no visitation at this time, there will be a private memorial at a later date.
