Obituary

Kenneth ("Kenny") Edward McConnell, age 87, departed this earthly life and began his eternal rest with the Lord on October 28, 2023. He was born on June 30th, 1936, to Ernest and Frances (Seitter) McConnell in his family home in Richmond, Ohio.

Kenny was an active member of Richmond Methodist Church his entire life. He graduated from Jefferson Union High School in 1954. He was a hard-working man who appreciated being able to take care of himself and his family and teaching them the value of hard work. Kenny loved having an open door policy, which allowed his many children, grandchildren, extended family and friends to come in and have a conversation with him. He enjoyed exchanging stories with everyone, and teasing and laughing with his loved ones. He was quite a beloved character, who insisted that everyone eat something at his home. His larger than life presence will be greatly missed.

Kenny was a lifelong farmer who loved being outside, working with animals and working with his hands. He worked at McConnell's Meat Market from it's start in 1951 and worked there with his father and brother for over 50 years. He was a member of the Unionport Masonic #333, Eastern Star #360, and the Lions' Club. He served for 32 years as the Director of the Board of Citizen's-Sky Bank.

Surviving are his devoted wife of over 50 years, Linda, children Jim (Suzanne) McConnell, Tom (Mollie) McConnell, Kathy (Dale) Ramsey, Brian (Patty) Martin and Kevin (Stephanie) McConnell, grandchildren Greg (Ashlie) Rinkes and Kenlee (Kristin) Rinkes and Vicki (Paul) Gogikar, and John (Kelli), Vance (Tamara), Robert (fiancee Charleigh Harding), Mary, and Max McConnell; Ed (Kyleigh), Josh (Natasha), Charli and Tommi (fiancé Steve Marcino) McConnell; Andrew (Racine) and Tyler (Heather) Ramsey, and Amber (Artie) Chappell; Itxel and Savannah Martin; and Magnus and Breck McConnell and 19 great-granchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Joyce Guilliam. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara (Christian) McConnell, sister Donna (Scott) Hill, brother-in-law Richard Guilliam and brother and sister-in-law David and Rose McConnell, and daughters Belinda (Ross) Rinkes and Beth Ann (Martin) Flautt and baby Kenneth Edward McConnell.
