Larry Trushel, of Bloomingdale, Ohio, passed away after a short battle with dementia. Larry was a proud family man and father to Lisa (Jeffrey), Lori (JB), Brian (Reena), and Holly (Nicholas), and a loving Pap to seven wonderful grandchildren. He was Uncle Larry to several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his son, Larry Jr.; his granddaughter, Karishma; his brother, Melvin Jr.; his twin brother, Terry; and his parents, Mel and Audrey. He is also remembered by his wife, Linda.

A proud member of the United Mine Workers of America (UMWA), Larry spent 20 years working in the coal mines before becoming an owner-operator of a semi-truck. He had a legendary ability to operate heavy machinery and could maneuver an 18-wheeler hauling steel coils with the ease of driving his favorite car—Jeep Wrangler.

Larry had a deep love for animals, treating every one he encountered with unmatched care and kindness. His service to his country was equally heartfelt; he volunteered for active duty in the Vietnam War, despite not being required to serve because his brother was already deployed. He carried that sense of duty throughout his life and remained active in the Hopedale Legion for many years and was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW)

Known to many as "Catfish", Larry's life was marked by strong bonds, loyal companionship, and meaningful connections with those who supported and cared for him. He will be deeply missed by family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.
